GAIN — Unity Asset Library Manager
A downloadable tool
GAIN - Game Asset Index (Unity Asset Library Manager)
GAIN is a desktop app for keeping track of your Unity asset library.
If you have a pile of Asset Store purchases, `.unitypackage` files, asset zips, prefabs, textures, models, audio clips, animations, and “I should use this someday” ideas, GAIN gives you one local place to organize them.
It is built for indie developers who want to know what they own, where it is used, and what you are planning to use next and in which project.
What GAIN helps with
- Catalog Unity asset packages with source URLs, package IDs, tags, art style, engine compatibility, purchase dates, notes, and local package paths
- Track which assets are planned for or already used in each project
- Scan Unity projects to find matching packages and discovered asset files
- Browse prefabs, models, textures, audio files, animations, and other imported files
- Generate local previews for Unity prefabs, models, textures, and animations
- View waveform previews for supported audio files
- Import `.unitypackage` files
- Import owned asset lists from Unity Asset Store and Synty browser-export workflows
GAIN stores your library on your machine.
Free vs Full edition
The Free edition is useful on its own. It includes unlimited asset records, project records, notes, tags, licenses, imports, scanning, search, filtering, backups, and project tracking.
The Free edition limits preview media to:
- 50 texture previews
- 50 audio previews
- 50 prefab previews
- 50 model previews
- 50 animation previews
After those preview slots are used, your records and files are still visible. You can still search, organize, open, reveal, link, tag, and back up your library. Only additional preview media is locked.
The Full edition is the paid version. It includes everything in Free, plus:
- Unlimited previews
- In-app audio playback
Buy the Full edition if you want unrestricted preview browsing and audio playback, or keep using Free if the preview limits are enough for your library.
License
You buy it, you own it. You may use it in any way you wish, but you are not allowed to redistribute or sell it.
Pre-requisites (non-self-contained versions)
The non-self-contained versions require the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime. Download it from here:
